Opening hours

From 15 June 2025, the world-renowned artist and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen is returning to Schaulager with Bass (2024), his most abstract work to date and 12 years after the groundbreaking exhibition.

Public Opening on Saturday, 14 June, 5–9 pm

Opening hours during Art Basel
Sunday, 15 June – Sunday, 22 June, 11 am – 6 pm
except Wednesday, 18 June, 12–6 pm

From 23 June 2025
Thursday 12 – 6 pm
Saturday–Sunday 11 am – 5 pm
Closed on Monday to Wednesday and Friday

Opening hours during Kunsttage Basel
Friday, 29 August – Sunday, 31 August, 11 am – 5 pm

Due to construction work for the extension building, the Schaulager parking lot is unfortunately no longer available.
We recommend using public transportation.

Schaulager will only be open for researchers, schools and universities by appointment. In the meantime, interested visitors can take part in the Schaulager guided tours, which take place once a month in English and German. Every first Sunday of the month there is also a guided tour in the Dieter Roth room by appointment.

Upon request and in consultation with Schaulager, works from the collection of the Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation are made accessible to a specialist public as well as to school classes, teachers and students.
